MOL Logistics (H.K.) Limited actively supports environmental conservation. On October 19, 2024, we cojoined with our MOL group to participate in the Embrace Nature – Grass Cutting Event at Mai Po Nature Reserve, in collaboration with WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature Hong Kong).
The wetlands at Mai Po are central to our commitment to environmental sustainability and ecosystem protection. Known globally as the "Bird Paradise" due to its rich biodiversity, but Mai Po faces challenges from overgrown vegetation, which hinders migratory birds' ability to forage and negatively impacts the wetland ecosystem.
To help address this issue, our company volunteers physically removed the overgrown vegetation. Led by Mr. Terence Leung, Managing Director of MOL Logistics (H.K.) Limited, Mr. Ryokichi Asai, Managing Director of MOL (Hong Kong) Limited, and Mr. Takanori Hida, Regional Head of Corporate Functions, joined us as guest, a team of 25 volunteers worked under the bright sun to clear four large buckets of grass. This vegetation will serve as cuisine for those adorable water buffalos residing in Mai Po Nature Reserve.
We are proud to have participated in this meaningful activity, contributing to the preservation of this vital wetland habitat. Our efforts aim to help maintain ecological balance and biodiversity.
We extend our gratitude to all volunteers and WWF representative for their hard work and dedication. We hope to continue making a positive impact on the environment.
